For 8 or so euros, you can opt to visit the Cloisters inside San Giovanni in Laterano. If you’re not much into peace, quiet and zen, then 8 euros is a bit steep, considering the cloisters is basically a small square courtyard with relics aroundĀ its walls.

It was nice walking around, seeing the light filter through the spiral arches

And randomly, there were pieces and chunks of relics and tomes scattered about the walls, even here where the vending machines are!

Now doesn’t this courtyard look like something out of Game of Thrones? Albeit simpler.

If I had a courtyard, I would want it to be something like this (or medieval with a stone well and all), architectural details, light, peace… A nice place to hang and have some R&R. But for 8 euros, there really isn’t much to see or do here. There’s the courtyard, some relics, and a room with some more papers and relics where photos are not allowed. A nice addition, but not really a must-see.
